Campania, Italy

Born from the joint forces of two siblings, Roberto and Teresa, Petilia and its roughly 30 ha of vineyards are located in Pincera in Irpinia, the mountainous region in mainland Campania where two of the finest white wine appellations of Italy are grown: Fiano di Avellino DOCG and Greco di Tufo DOCG, as well as the famous red wine Taurasi DOCG. The grandson of two honest peasants, Roberto initially studied to be a physicist until he eventually heard the call of the land. Against the will of his father, he decided to plant his first vineyard solely focused on Greco di Tufo. In 1999, Roberto and his younger sister Teresa carried out the first vinification which they decided to name "Petilia" meaning small or new homeland. And ever since the first harvest Roberto oversees the vineyards while Teresa mostly deals with marketing and clients, although she never misses a chance to step into the vineyards.
